Akira the live-action adaptation if starting to pick up some momentum in Hollywood, It's about damn time! With the script done by the Mark Fergus and Hawk Otsby who were Oscar Nominees for the movie "Iron Man" we can expect good things from them. The duo also wrote for one of my favorite movies "Children of Men". The people in negotations to direct this beast of a movie are directors Albert and Allen Hughes directors movie of the not too long ago released "Book of Eli" starring Denzel Washinton. I haven't watched "Book of Eli" so I have no idea what it consist of besides explosions, cars, and a post apocalyptic world.  I'm a little sketchy on the directors on how they are going to handle Akira but it's better then hiring a crappy director i'm looking at you James Wong. Anyways onto Leonardo DiCraprio comment about starring in Akira


"You know, you never want to say anything is going to happen in this town, because everything gets thrown out the window one day and is green lit the next," DiCaprio told MTV News.

"It's all about the material at the end of the day, that's why ['Shutter Island'] is something of a godsend," he said. "When you get good material, you have to jump on it and try to make it as best you can, because it is few and far between."
